古典籍とは、明治以前の、書写あるいは出版された書籍のことを指します。
我々国立情報学研究所と国文学研究資料館のチームは、古典籍画像データに対する画像検索技術の開発を行っています。コンピュータビジョンの知見を用いることで、古典籍資料に対する定量的な検索を実現し、 古典籍の中から、現代に通じる新たな発見を目指します。

Kotenseki means pre-modern Japanese works that were written and read up to the beginning of the Meiji era. One characteristic of Kotenseki literature is to intertwine text and images. The NII / NIJL team is now developing a content-based image search system for Kotenseki images. Using computer vision techniques, this will enable quantitative analysis of Kotenseki image content, and help making new discoveries in this form of Japanese literature.
